Starting from September 10, Mississippi lottery players can enter daily draws for the Match 5 game. The decision comes after its popularity has been increasing since the beginning of the year and the lottery is responding to the players’ needs.
“The popularity of Match 5 has skyrocketed since the record $905,000 jackpot was hit in February. Mississippi Match 5's great odds and ease of play consistently make it a player favorite. We're simply responding to what players want—more Mississippi Match 5,” Lottery President Jeff Hewit shared.
So what does actually change besides the drawing schedule? At the moment, players who like to use the multi-draw option can participate in up to 24 draws. However, from July 18, the number of draws will be 23 and it will continue to decrease one by one with every consecutive drawing.
On September 10, players will be able to get the multi-draw option but participate only in up to 21 drawings, including the drawing that day. But the rules, odds and price all remain the same. Players need to choose five numbers between 1 and 35 and, if they can’t decide, they can use the quick-pick option. Each ticket costs $2. For an extra $1, players can choose the Multiplier feature which multiplies non-jackpot winning prizes by 2, 3, 4 or 5 times, depending on the Multiplier number that is drawn. This feature also multiplies the numbers of free tickets you win in case you match two numbers. As usual, the results will be published shortly after 10pm CST.
