Mississippi Lottery Numbers

Mississippi launched its state lottery on November 25th 2019, with scratch-offs as the first available game. Powerball and Mega Millions tickets went on sale on January 30th 2020, with a range of state-specific games also due to follow in early 2020.

The winning lottery numbers are published here soon after the draws have taken place, detailing the balls drawn, the payouts and the number of winners. You can find information about playing Powerball and Mega Millions from the Magnolia State right here, along with updates and announcements for the Mississippi state Lotto.

The announcement brings Mississippi in line with neighbouring states that allow both a state lottery and multi-state games, raising millions of dollars for projects and charities every year.

MS Lotto

The Mississippi lotto will be the first of its kind in the state and will offer players the chance to win huge sums of money whilst also providing valuable funds for state projects and charities. The lotteries in neighbouring states differ slightly, with some running daily and some having draws twice a week, but all of them offer the jackpot for matching all the balls in the draw and multiple other prize tiers for matching fewer numbers.

As the state lottery has only just been launched, details of the prizes, odds or format of the game are yet to be decided. Any updates will be published on our dedicated Lotto page.

Latest Developments

Mega Millions and Powerball tickets are now on sale in Mississippi! The Mississippi Lottery launched in November 2019 and two months later the biggest draw games in the U.S. landed in the Magnolia State. You can purchase tickets from over 1,000 retailers across Mississippi. If you're new to these games, head to the Mega Millions and Powerball information pages to learn all about them.

Supporters of a lottery in Mississippi long argued that the state was missing out on a huge amount of funding for projects that other states enjoy thanks to their own lotteries. It wasn’t until August 2018 that Governor Phil Bryant called a session to vote on a lottery bill and even that was out-voted in the first instance. A special session 24 hours later forced a re-vote which eventually passed and paved the way for a state Lotto to be formed in Mississippi. There are still many more exciting games in the works for Mississippi, so check the Developments page to get the latest.

MS Mega Millions

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery that holds draws every Tuesday and Friday night, regularly offering jackpots over $100 million. Having previously been played in most neighboring states, tickets are now also sold in Mississippi. Check out the MS Mega Millions page for more details on the game and how to take part from the Magnolia state.

MS Powerball

Powerball is the biggest lottery in both the USA and the world, setting the record for the biggest jackpot ever offered at $1.6 billion in January 2016. Draws take place twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Players in Mississippi can now enter Powerball, so check out the MS Powerball page for details about the game and the prizes you can win.

Coronavirus Updates

The Mississippi Lottery Corporation has made a number of changes to the way prizes are claimed to try and stem the outbreak of coronavirus in Mississippi. This includes shutting regional lottery claim centers and only allowing some payouts to be claimed via mail. More information can be found on our Coronavirus updates page here and will be updated with any changes as they happen.
