Powerball Double Play Is Coming to Mississippi

Powerball Double Play Is Coming to Mississippi

Mississippi is set to become the latest state to offer the Powerball Double Play feature, giving players another chance to win prizes of up to $10 million.

How Double Play Works

All you have to do to enter a Double Play drawing is select the option on your playslip and pay an extra $1. You don’t have to pick any more numbers - instead, the numbers you select for the main Powerball drawing are also entered into the Double Play game.

Double Play draws are held on the same nights - Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays - shortly after the main drawing. They work in exactly the same way, with five numbers selected at random from 1 to 69, followed by a Powerball from 1 to 26.

The prize structure is also similar to the main Powerball game, with nine different ways to win. Many of the Double Play payouts are actually worth more than the equivalent amount for the main Powerball draw.

The jackpot is always worth $10 million and does not roll if there are no tickets that match all the numbers. You can’t take part in Double Play on its own.

When Does Double Play Launch in MS?

The first Double Play drawing for Mississippi players will be Monday, November 6. Tickets will be available from Sunday, November 5.

If you’re a regular Powerball player in the Magnolia State, you’ll notice the multi-draw option start to reduce ahead of the launch of Double Play. Once it begins in November, you’ll once again be able to play up to 24 consecutive drawings.

Double Play was launched back in August 2021 across various states. It has expanded over time as more jurisdictions have joined.

You can see the latest Powerball Numbers as soon as they are available after every draw.
