Lotto America
Lotto America combines many of the elements of big multi-state games with more favorable odds and a lower ticket price. You can still win multimillion-jackpots three times a week.
Drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening at 21:15 CT (22:15 ET). It is not played in as many states as Powerball and Mega Millions, but there is still a large enough player pool for the jackpots to build quickly.
Playing Lotto America in Mississippi
Lotto America launched in Mississippi on May 12, 2024. The game is also available in 14 other jurisdictions apart from the Magnolia State.
- To play, start by selecting five main numbers from 1 to 52 and a Star Ball between 1 and 10. You can get a Quick Pick if you would prefer to use random numbers than choose your own.
- You can choose multiple sets of numbers on a playslip, and also buy tickets for several drawings in advance to make sure you don't miss out.
- Each line of numbers costs $1, but you can also add a couple of options to potentially boost your winnings. The All Star Bonus costs an extra $1 and increases any non-jackpot winnings by the value of the multiplier that is selected alongside the main draw - 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x.
- Select the EZ-Match option for an additional $1. You will be assigned a series of random numbers on your ticket. If any of these match the numbers you have picked, you win the prize amount shown on your ticket without even having to wait for the draw.
- Check your Lotto America numbers when the draw takes place to see if you are a winner. The results are published around 21:45 CT (22:45 ET).
Odds and Prizes
The odds of winning the Lotto America jackpot are 1 in 25,989,600, but there are also eight other prize levels and your overall chances of getting a payout are better than 1 in 10.
You are guaranteed a prize as long as you match the Star Ball, and the value of payouts increases as you match more main numbers.
All of the prizes are fixed amounts, apart from the jackpot, which is split if there are multiple winners. The grand prize starts at $2 million and grows if nobody matches all the numbers. It has been known to push well past $10 million.
